Description
A woman in traditional dress, powerful yet vulnerable. With closed eyes, she rests within herself, while a majestic eagle watches over her shoulder. Its wing wraps protectively around her – a symbol of strength, freedom, and mindfulness.
The woman's décolletage is covered in tattoos: an owl with gears, symbolizing the woman who has to function like a machine in everyday life. A wolf, a bear, and again the eagle – power animals representing courage, instinct, strength, and protection. Behind her rise mountains, symbols of permanence and home.
While the woman keeps her eyes closed, it is the eagle that gazes sharply and vigilantly. It serves as a reminder to set boundaries, respect oneself, and not lose one's strength in simply functioning.
This work combines tradition and folk costume with a contemporary, almost urban symbolism. It speaks of the challenges faced by modern women – and of the importance of finding protection and strength within oneself.
