Diptych from the series "Topographies of Light"
This two-part work presents a serene, profound mountain landscape in cool blue tones – a snow-covered scenery that gently draws the viewer's gaze into the distance. A bright, almost untouched slope in the foreground forms the entry point, before the landscape unfolds in numerous layers and levels, extending ever deeper.
The composition thrives on this spatial expanse – an interplay of proximity and distance, clarity and dissolution. With each glance, new structures, new lines, and new spaces emerge.
Fine accents of metal leaf break through the cool color surfaces, creating targeted points of light. They lend the work a special luminosity and subtly make the interplay of light and shadow palpable.
Inspired by moments in the mountains where the gaze seems to lose itself boundlessly in the landscape, this work carries the essence of that experience:
Pause.
Wonder.
And the recurring fascination for new perspectives – even in familiar places.
"Horizons of Light" is an invitation to immerse oneself in this space – and to discover the depth of the landscape within.
